The biggest names in Irish athletics are gearing up for an exciting weekend of competition as the 2025 National Senior Indoor Championships take centre stage on February 22nd and 23rd. This highly anticipated event will bring together the country’s best track and field athletes as they battle for national titles and showcase their talent on the road to international success.
The championships kick off at 12pm on Saturday, with the second session set for Sunday at 12pm.
Sunday’s tickets are completely sold out, so spectators without a Sunday ticket are advised not to travel to the venue. However, a limited number of tickets remain for Saturday, offering fans a chance to catch the action in person. For those unable to attend, both days of competition will be streamed live on the Athletics Ireland YouTube Channel.
Five Para athletes will be in action over the weekend including Aaron Shorten, Cathal Ryan, and Lana Sutton. Paris Paralympian Aaron Shorten will compete in the 1500m, aiming for a strong performance in the middle-distance event. Cork man Cathal Ryan who made his Irish debut at the 2023 Para Athletics World Championships in Paris will be one to watch in the 200m. Meanwhile, Lana Sutton will demonstrate her versatility as she competes in both the 60m sprint and the long jump.
Para Athletics Academy athletes Fionán Ruane and Damien Moyles will also be hoping to make their mark on the track this weekend. Ruane will line up in the 60m, while Damien Moyles takes on the 400m. Both athletes will be aiming for strong performances as they continue their development and gain valuable senior championship experience.
