There’s a busy couple of days ahead for Paralympic athletes this week, with some major competitions getting underway.
First up, keen shooter Phillip Eaglesham is currently in competition at the IPC Shooting World Cup in Bangkok, Thailand, which is the last stop on the qualification road to Rio.
Earlier today (Tuesday), Phillip competed in the R4 Mixed 10m Air Rifle. Following a good training session on Monday afternoon, he put in a great performance today, to secure a Personal Best in the competition and to finish in 14th place.
This event has teed him up nicely for his main event on Friday, where he will compete in the R5 10m Air Rifle Prone Mixed event where he will be hoping to meet the Minimum Qualifying Standard. You can find out more about the competition here.

Next up, St. Patrick’s Day will see the start of the hugely-anticipated Para-Cycling Track World Championships in Italy.
The Fassa Bortolo Velodrome in Montichiari will play host to some of the best para-cyclists in the world who will all be competing for that coveted world title.
This is the last track event that will award points for the Games in Rio, and Ireland announced a hugely impressive team last week which includes former World Champion, Colin Lynch, multiple World Champion, Eoghan Clifford and multi-medallists Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal.
The event will also see a new male tandem pairing for Ireland in Peter Ryan and Seán Hahessy. Colin Lynch will get proceedings underway for Ireland on Thursday morning, followed by Eoghan Clifford later on that morning. You can keep up to date on the competition here.
