Eoghan Clifford and the tandem pairing of Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal have each won gold medals for Ireland this evening in the C3 and Women’s B road cycling Time Trials respectively.
Despite a chain slip off in the middle of the race, Clifford secured his second medal of the Games in a fantastic time of 38.21.79, a full one minute and eight seconds ahead of second placed Masaki Fujita of Japan.
Meanwhile, tandem duo Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal rode home to glory in a nail-biting Women’s B tandem competition to finish in 38.59.22, 33 seconds ahead of Japan in second.
This rounds off a fantastic day for Irish para cycling after team mate Colin Lynch bagged a silver medal this morning in the C2 Men’s Individual Time Trial earlier today in a time of 28.02.25. You can read more about Colin’s fantastics competition here
