
Blanchardstown Centre, Ireland’s leading shopping, leisure and retail park, has been unveiled as Official Supporter of the World Para Swimming Allianz European Championships. The championships, which get underway on Monday, August 13th, will see the best para swimmers from across Europe come to Dublin to compete across 7 days of competition.
As part of the agreement between Blanchardstown Centre and the Local Organising Committee of Dublin 2018 the Centre has agreed to provide vital advertising throughout the centre as well as a significant financial contribution towards the cost of the championships.
400 athletes are due to arrive in Dublin from Thursday to put the final touches to their preparations for the biggest para swimming event taking place in the world this year. Competition gets underway on Monday at 10am with Irish swimmer, James Scully, set to compete in the very first heat as he takes to the pool in the Men’s 200m Freestyle S5 event.

The centre is located within walking distance of the Sport Ireland National Aquatic Centre and is likely to be a focal point for spectators interests between sessions throughout the week. Tickets for the World Para Swimming Allianz European Championships are available to purchase now at www.paralympics.ie/dublin-2018-tickets Morning session tickets will cost €5 for adults, €3 for Under 16’s, Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are €10 and Group tickets (2 adults and 8 children) are available at €25. Evening session tickets will cost €10 for adults, €3 for Under 16’s and Family Tickets are €20.
The World Para Swimming Allianz European Championships are supported by Paralympics Ireland, Sport Ireland, Swim Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
