18 year old Britney Arendse continued her stunning delvelopment as a powerlifter with a world record breaking performance at the Asia and Oceania Championships in Japan.
Arendse produced 3 lifetime best performances as she successfully lifted 89, 91 and 93 kg before attempting a World Junior Record weight of 98.5kg. Britney produced the best ever lift as she succeeded in setting a new world record becoming the first ever Irish powerlifter to do so. Her incredible performance was good enough to clinch the bronze medal in the junior category and to finish in fifth place overall.
