
It was a long trip to Canada for the Irish Para Cycling team as they competed in the UCI Paracycling Road World Cup at Baie Comeau. A strong Irish team competed at the event including Declan Slevin, Ronan Grimes, Chris Burns, Gary O’Reilly and the tandem duo of Damien Vereker and Paul Forristal.
It was Ronan Grimes who produced the most encouraging performances as he finished with a third place finish in the Time Trial and fifth overall in the Road Race. Gary O’Reilly also produced strong finishes in both events as he finished the weekend with 6th and 7th placed finishes in his events.
The team are now preparing for their next major event which is the Para Cycling Road World Championships which take place in Holland next month.
