Irish Para Swimmer, Amy Marren, has today announced her retirement from Para Swimming. Amy, who joined the Irish team in 2019, competed at the World Para Swimming Championships in London as part of Team Ireland.
Amy’s involvement at the championships were impacted heavily by an injury to her shoulder but she does retain the distinction of being a member of Ireland’s first ever female Para relay team along with Ellen Keane, Nicole Turner and Ailbhe Kelly.
“But now feels right for me, I have achieved all I have set out to do, and I am closing this chapter with a full heart and a smile on my face.”
All of us in Paralympics Ireland would like to wish Amy all the best going forward.
