It’s a busy weekend for Irish Para athletes, with competition scheduled at two major international athletics meets: Cork City Sports and the Morton Games. Taking place in Cork on Wednesday and in Dublin on Friday, both events provide valuable opportunities for Irish Para athletes to compete on home soil as part of high-profile international programmes. Their inclusion reflects continued progress toward greater integration and recognition within elite track and field competition.
The 2025 Cork City Sports International Athletics Meet will include a dedicated Para Men’s 100m event as part of its official programme. Scheduled for July 9th at MTU Stadium, the race will feature seven Irish athletes competing across multiple classifications.
