Team Ireland delivered a series of podium performances at the World Triathlon Para Series in Montreal over the weekend, securing three medals and several personal bests in one of the pinnacle events of the para triathlon calendar.
Held at Montreal’s iconic Parc Jean-Drapeau, the course challenged athletes with a 750m swim in the Olympic Basin, a fast and technical 20.4km bike segment across the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, and a 5km run set along the scenic waterfront.

Tom Williamson continued his remarkable run of form by securing a silver medal for Team Ireland. Ranked fourth in the world heading into the race, Williamson delivered a confident and composed performance across all three disciplines to claim his second consecutive World Series podium, following a silver medal finish in Taranto last month. The result further solidified his position among the sport’s top contenders.

Chloe MacCombe and her guide Aisling Wyer celebrated a major breakthrough, earning their first World Triathlon Para Series podium as a duo. Building on a fifth-place finish at the European Championships, the pair executed a cohesive and determined race to take bronze in only their second outing together.

Donnacha McCarthy and guide Sean Husband capped off a strong two week stretch with back-to-back bronze medals. Following a podium finish at the World Triathlon Para Cup in Magog, the pair maintained their consistency in Montreal to secure another third place finish.
