There are now just 50 days to go until the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games get underway in Italy, with competition taking place from 6 – 15 March 2026 across Milano and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
As the countdown continues, the purpose and impact of the Paralympic Movement remain firmly in focus. Speaking ahead of the Games, Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee, said:
“In sport, we remove the unnecessary barriers to excel and to inspire the world. We don’t want this only in sport. We want this in all areas of society, so persons with disabilities can shine in every field they choose to shine.”
A unique Italian setting
The Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games will be staged across two iconic Italian locations, combining dramatic alpine scenery with a vibrant urban backdrop. Cortina d’Ampezzo, located in the heart of the Dolomites, will host the mountain events, while Milano will provide the setting for indoor competition, creating a distinctive and varied Games experience.
This blend of mountain and city venues will showcase the breadth of winter Para sport while offering spectators a range of environments and atmospheres throughout the Games.
