The Para Perspective Returns for Series Two with Richael Timothy
Paralympics Ireland is delighted to launch the second series of The Para Perspective, the official Paralympics Ireland podcast proudly supported by Deloitte.
Following the launch of the podcast in 2025, The Para Perspective returns for a new six part series, bringing listeners behind the scenes of Irish Para sport and creating a platform for athletes to share their experiences both in and beyond competition.
The opening episode of Series Two features double Paralympian and Para cyclist Richael Timothy, who represented Ireland at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
In a wide-ranging conversation, Timothy discusses acquiring a disability at the age of 21 following a brain injury and the journey that eventually led her into Para cycling and high-performance sport.
The episode explores the adaptations and technology involved in Para cycling, the work that goes on behind the scenes to compete at the highest level and Timothy’s sporting background, including her time playing county football, which helped lay the foundations for her later career on the bike.

Series Two of The Para Perspective will feature six episodes with athletes from across Irish Para sport, providing an insight into their careers, experiences and the people and moments that have shaped their journeys.
The series continues Paralympics Ireland’s partnership with Deloitte, whose support enables The Para Perspective to bring the stories of Ireland’s Para athletes to a wider audience.
Episode One of The Para Perspective Series Two, featuring Richael Timothy, is available now on Spotify, with further episodes to be released throughout the series.
