Paralympics Ireland is proud to congratulate our Para Swimming Co-ordinator, Alex Malone, who has been named on this year’s prestigious Sport for Business PwC Ireland 30 Under 30 list.
Alex first joined Paralympics Ireland in March 2023 through the Aspire Graduate Programme. Since then, he has taken up the role of Para Swimming Co-ordinator, where he plays a key part in managing Ireland’s high-performance and performance pathway swimming squads. His role includes organising international and domestic competitions, overseeing training programmes, and managing important areas such as anti-doping and athlete welfare.
A graduate of University College Dublin’s Sport and Exercise Management course, Alex was instrumental in the build-up to Paris 2024. As Operations Administrator, he worked at the heart of Team Ireland’s preparations and was a constant presence in the Athletes’ Village, coordinating travel, accreditation, accommodation, and daily operations.
Outside of his work with Paralympics Ireland, Alex has gained experience with organisations including Cricket Ireland, Elverys, Educogym, and Sport Endorse. He continues to invest in his professional development and is currently completing a Diploma in Project Management at UCD.
