After the absence of Team Ireland from the 1964 Games in Tokyo normal service was to resume at Israel in 1964 as the Irish Paralympic team returned to the Paralympic Games.
The Irish certainly made their presence felt on the podium as they claimed 9 medals in total. Amongst the athletes that won medals in Israel was Rosaleen Gallagher. Rosaleen returned home with two medals but this was only the beginning for this incredible athlete who was to go on and win an unbelievable 20 individual medals in total from multiple games across archery, athletics, swimming and table tennis.
