Retired Paralympian Jason Smyth has been announced as the 11th celebrity contestant for the 2024 season of RTÉ’s Dancing with the Stars.
Smyth will be trading his sprint spikes for dancing shoes as he will attempt to add the glitterball trophy to his already impressive collection of 21 gold medals over his 18 year career on the track.
Smyth joins an eclectic cast including former Miss World Rosanna Davison and retired jockey Davy Russell.
Speaking about the announcement Smyth said, “Can’t say I ever thought I would be changing the colour of my suit to pink for a few weeks. They do say getting out of your comfort zone promotes personal growth & builds resilience, let’s put it to the test!”
