Job Opportunity: Chief Executive Officer, Paralympics Ireland

Paralympics Ireland is the National Paralympic Committee for Ireland, recognised by the International Paralympic Committee and is responsible for preparing and managing the Irish team at the Paralympic Games, which are held every four years. It achieves this through partnership with member National Governing Bodies of Sport, Government, business, supporting bodies and the community.

 

THE ORGANISATION

Paralympics Ireland is the National Paralympic Committee for Ireland, recognised by the International Paralympic Committee and is responsible for preparing and managing the Irish team at the Paralympic Games, which are held every four years. It achieves this through partnership with member National Governing Bodies of Sport, Government, business, supporting bodies and the community. The Board of Paralympics Ireland now wishes to appoint a dynamic and visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into its next stage of development.

 

‍THE ROLE

Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will lead Paralympics Ireland and will be responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of all day-to-day operations. This involves the management of all resources, as well as providing the strategic planning and leadership necessary to meet Paralympic Ireland’s objectives. The role has a unique mix of governance, sports administration, commercial strategy, stakeholder and relationship management, communication and financial management.

 

THE PERSON

You will have significant senior leadership experience coupled with a strong understanding of the business of sport, whilst also understanding the unique nature of national governing bodies (NGBs) and sports administration in Ireland.

As the public face of Paralympics Ireland, you will have highly developed communication skills and will be capable of engaging with and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Proven leadership, governance, finance and change management skills are required.

You will possess significant experience in developing, driving and delivering strategic plans.

You will have an ability to attract and manage funding from diverse sources.

Personal values that resonate with the mission and work of Paralympics Ireland are essential.
