Job Description

Fundraising and Commercial Manager

This is a three year fixed term role designed to strengthen the fundraising, philanthropy and commercial capability of Paralympics Ireland in the lead up to the LA 2028 Paralympic Games and beyond. The role will support the generation of new income, the stewardship of existing relationships, and the delivery of fundraising and commercial activity that aligns with Paralympics Ireland’s values, governance standards and athlete centred mission.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising and Philanthropy

  • Lead the development and delivery of integrated fundraising strategies across corporate partnerships, individual giving, major donors, philanthropic organisations and events.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with donors, sponsors, philanthropic organisations and other key stakeholders.
  • Create compelling funding propositions that clearly communicate athlete impact, performance success and the wider societal value of Para sport.
  • Develop and grow a sustainable donor pipeline aligned with Paralympics Ireland’s strategic objectives.
  • Identify and maximise key opportunities linked to the Paralympic Games cycle, including LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032.

Commercial Partnerships

  • Support and enhance commercial revenue streams through sponsorships, partnerships and other commercial opportunities.
  • Manage and nurture existing partnerships, ensuring agreed benefits are delivered and strong value is provided to partners.
  • Work closely with marketing, communications and performance teams to maximise partnership activation and supporter engagement.
  • Act as a professional ambassador for Paralympics Ireland with senior corporate, philanthropic, public and sporting stakeholders.

Events and Activation

  • Plan and deliver high-impact fundraising and commercial events that drive engagement and revenue growth.
  • Ensure all fundraising and commercial events provide an excellent supporter experience, strong brand presence and measurable financial return.
  • Work appropriately with athletes, coaches and ambassadors to support fundraising, partnership and commercial initiatives.
  • Ensure all athlete engagement aligns with athlete welfare, safeguarding policies and organisational values.

Financial Management, Reporting and Governance

  • Oversee budgets, income targets and financial forecasting for fundraising and commercial activity.
  • Provide regular performance reporting to senior leadership and Board stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and pipeline tracking through CRM and financial systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with fundraising regulations, sponsorship agreements, data protection requirements and governance standards.
  • Contribute to fundraising and commercial projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, philanthropy, sponsorship, commercial partnerships or revenue generation.
  • Proven track record of building strong relationships and delivering sustainable income growth.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a values driven organisation.
  • Professional, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience working in sport, disability sport, the charity sector, a national governing body or a non-profit environment is desirable.
  • Understanding of corporate social responsibility, ESG, purpose-led partnerships or cause-related marketing is desirable.
  • Experience in event delivery, sponsorship activation or partnership management is desirable.
  • Experience using CRM systems or donor management platforms is desirable.

Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification in fundraising, business, marketing, communications, sponsorship, charity management or a related area is desirable.
  • Minimum of three years’ relevant professional experience.
