Limerick native Róisín Ní Riain was named Performance Para Swimmer of the Year at the 2023 Swim Ireland awards.
Ní Riain had a stand out World Championships in Manchester this summer where she won a silver medal in the 100 Butterfly, followed up by a gold medal swim in the 100m Backstroke. These performances secured the first quota spot for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. She also set two new World Records across the year.
Her teammate Dearbhaile Brady was also recognised for appearing at her first senior World Championships.
