O’ Donnell Storms into A Final at 2025 World Rowing Cup in Varese

Tiarnán O’Donnell made an emphatic start to his 2025 international campaign, securing a first-place finish in his preliminary race at the World Rowing Cup in Varese, Italy, his 2025 season debut.

The Limerick rower outpaced a competitive field with a time of 8:41.80 to claim the top spot and secure direct qualification for Sunday’s A Final.

O’ Donnell will take to the water in the PR2 Men’s Single Sculls A Final on Sunday, 15 June. The final will be livestreamed on the World Rowing website.

He’ll be looking to build on this momentum and make a strong podium push, aiming to add another medal to his growing international résumé. His 2024 season firmly established him as one to watch, with silver medal finishes at both World Rowing Cup II in Lucerne and World Cup III in Poznań.
