Paralympics Among Top Sport Searches for 2024

‘Paralympics’ was among the top Google sport searches in Ireland in 2024.

The Paralympic Games took place from August 28th to September 9th in Paris attracting thousands of Irish fans to the French capital. 35 athletes represented Team Ireland at the Games across nine sports; archery, athletics, cycling, equestrian, rowing, swimming, table tennis and triathlon.

Globally, 170 countries were represented by over 4,400 athletes across the 10-day competition.

‘Paralympics’ was the third most searched sports term on Google in Ireland this year behind ‘Euros 2024’ and ‘Olympics’.

Ireland won six medals at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, one gold, three silver and two bronze, as well as three additional medals for cycling pilots.
