Paralympics Ireland extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Charmaine Hooper.

Charmaine was a highly respected leader within international Para sport and served as Chief Executive Officer of World Abilitysport. Over the course of her career, she played a significant role in the development and administration of Para sport, working across multiple impairment groups and supporting international competition and participation worldwide.
Paralympics Ireland CEO Stephen McNamara said:
“We pass on our condolences to the family and friends of dear Charmaine. A friend to all, she was the one who ensured everyone felt welcome and included and was always at the top of everyone’s list to catch up with at events. From the moment you met Charmaine, you felt her warmth and generosity of spirit. A brilliant mind and a wonderful person, we will miss her terribly.”
