Paris marked Greta’s third Paralympic Games. She made her international debut for the Irish Para Athletics team at the 2016 European Para Athletics Championships, just after receiving her Irish passport in 2015. Greta marked the occasion in style, claiming a bronze medal in her first major competition.

She won gold at the 2018 and 2021 European Championships and was fourth in the T13 1500m final on her Paralympic debut in Rio.

Greta credits her PE teacher, Sean Gallagher, for inspiring her to take up running, and coach Enda Fitzpatrick for guiding her to an international level. After finishing fifth at the 2019 World Championships, she was determined to push further and made the decision to train with the Dublin Track Club under the guidance of coach Feidhlim Kelly.

Greta then qualified for Team Ireland at the 2024 Para Athletics World Championships with a time of 4:33.27, setting a new European record.

Greta competes in the T13 category due to retinopathy, which has left her with vision in only her left eye. Her family moved from Lithuania to Swords, Co. Dublin, when she was 15, and she is a triplet. Greta holds a degree in International Relations from DCU and completed a Master’s in Business Management in 2019. In 2023, she also earned a Master’s in Applied Sports Psychology from Setanta College. To support her training, she works part-time at AIB, dedicating two days a week to her professional career.
