Following their medal-winning success earlier this season at the Lucerne International Regatta, Paralympic medallist Tiarnán O’Donnell will once again team up with emerging young talent Sadhbh Ní Laoghaire. The duo represents both proven international pedigree and the exciting future of Irish Para rowing.

Rowing Ireland’s Lead Coach Dominic Casey highlighted the importance of this year’s Championships: “This year presents a valuable opportunity to look ahead to Los Angeles 2028, to develop talent, and to solidify the high-performance culture within our team. We’re proud of the Para Rowing representation in Shanghai, and confident Sadhbh and Tiarnán will continue to build on their strong partnership.”

Rowing Ireland CEO Michelle Carpenter added: “Para rowing remains a cornerstone of our high-performance programme. Supporting Paralympic athletes, while creating pathways for new talent, is vital as we prepare for future Games. The PR2 double showcases the resilience, ambition, and excellence of our Para squad.”
