Swim Ireland yesterday announced Deloitte as a new partner of its Performance Programme, marking an important collaboration in supporting Ireland’s high -performance swimmers and divers as they prepare for major international competition.
This three year partnership, extending through to LA 2028 and beyond will see Deloitte play a pivotal role in advancing Swim Ireland’s Performance Programme, reinforcing a shared commitment to excellence, athlete development and sustained success on the global stage.
According to the 2024 Irish Sports Monitor, swimming is Ireland’s number one sport for women and for people with disabilities, and the second most popular sport for adults after personal exercise along with Ireland’s most successful Olympic sport at Paris 2024.
As the world’s number one professional services firm, Deloitte already plays a significant role in Irish high-performance sport, with established partnerships across the Olympic and Paralympic landscape, including the Olympic Federation of Ireland, Paralympics Ireland. This new collaboration with Swim Ireland builds on that commitment, further strengthening support for elite athletes within aquatics.
Swim Ireland’s Performance Programme has delivered significant international success in recent years, and this partnership reflects its continued ambition to enhance its performance environment through collaboration with leading organisations that share its values and vision.
Speaking on the announcement, Mary McMorrow, CEO (Interim) of Swim Ireland, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Deloitte as a partner to our Performance Programme. Their existing commitment to Irish Olympic and Paralympic sport, and their support of one of our own Olympic champions, makes this partnership a strong alignment of values. This support will play an important role as we continue to develop a sustainable, world-class performance system for Irish swimming and diving.”
Aisléan Nicholson, Partner, Deloitte, added:
“Our partnership with Swim Ireland embodies the values we champion at Deloitte: high performing teams, inclusion and talent development. We’re proud to support Swim Ireland and further enhance their capacity to provide a world-class performance environment, supporting athletes and coaches as they target success at European, World and Olympic level competition.”
