Peter Ryan is a veteran of the 2016 Paralympic Games where he competed in the Tandem Cycling Time Trial and the Road Race.
29 Year Old Tipperary man, Ryan, had been a promising minor hurler with Tipperary before he suffered the effects of Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy that caused the deterioration of his eyesight.
Peter began competing as a tandem cyclist going on to win several National Championships before competing at World Championships and ultimately representing Ireland at the Rio 2016 Games.
Peter is a strong advocate for the disability sector and has recently been elected as a councillor representing Thurles in the Tipperary County Council.
