It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former Irish Paralympian Frances O’Sullivan White.
Frances (73) represented Ireland in Table Tennis at four separate Paralympic Games beginning 50 years ago in 1968 in Tel Aviv. Frances claimed two medals in Israel including an individual silver medal and a Bronze medal in the doubles competition with her partner, Rosaleen Gallagher. Frances also competed in Heidelberg in 1972 before going on to medal again at Toronto in 1976 where she claimed individual silver and her only gold medal in the teams competition with her partner, Julia Cosgrove. Frances’ final Paralympics Games came in 1980 when she again earned a silver medal with her partner Julie Toomey (Cosgrove).
