Paralympics Ireland attended an event at the beautiful ‘Centre Culturel’ in Paris to officially open a new exhibition celebrating the participation of Irish athletes in the Paralympic and Olympic Games since the first time Ireland competed as an in Independent nation at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris.

Paralympics Ireland President joined with CEO Stephen McNamara in officially opening the exhibition alongside the CEO of the Olympic Federation of Ireland, Peter Sherrard and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Pascal Donohue.

The exhibition which has been researched and presented by historian Mark Duncan examines the history of Irish participation at the Olympic and Paralympic Games before, during and since the foundation of the Irish state. It is a wonderful celebration of the impact of sport and the significant history of competition and success by Irish athletes on the World stage.
