Paralympics Ireland are seeking expressions of interest from Irish Paralympic athletes that may be interested in joining the new Athletes Commission.
This is a great opportunity to either become involved or remain involved in Paralympic sport and get to understand some of the background administration and decisions, develop new skills and influence change.
The athletes commission will have a role to ensure that the athletes voice is heard throughout the organisation, up to and including board level. Members will act as advocates for Paralympic sport and Paralympics Ireland.
The athletes commission will be appointed in February and the term will come to an end at the conclusion of the next Paralympic Cycle in December 2024. Athletes that competed at one or more of the Paralympic Games in Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016 or Tokyo 2020 are eligible for selection to the Athletes Commission. Those who were previously on the Athletes Commission are also welcome to apply again.
