Finals for Turner and Ní Riain on Day 1 in Sheffield

Five of the Irish Team that travelled to the UK were in action today on day 1 of the Citi Para Swimming World Series in Sheffield.

 

Nicole Turner swam a season best in her heat posting a time of 3:11.31. There were personal bests in in the heats of this event also with Roisin Ni Riain clocking 2:30.75, Amy Sheridan 3:08.99 Siomha Brady 3:27.66 and Dearbhaile 3:55.89.

 

Both Nicole Turner and Roisin Ni Riain advanced to the finals of this event finishing in 10th and 8th place respectively. Turner shaved a second of her time from her heat swimming 3:09.57 in the final. Ní Riain also reduced her heat time by the smallest of margin completing the 200m in 2.29.66.

 

Amy Sheridan took to the pool for the 100m freestyle posting a time of 1:10.98 in her heat, a season best for the swimmer.
