Paralympics Ireland and Dublin City FM are coming together to produce a new radio show that will be the very first of its kind. The show, which will air for the first time on Wednesday, July 6th at 7pm, will concentrate completely on Irish Paralympic Sport.
The Irish Paralympic Show will feature some of the best established, and up and coming, para-athletes as they continue in their quest to represent Team Ireland at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and beyond.
Two-time Irish Paralympian, James Scully, will co-host the show along with Derek Kinnevey and the show will be broadcast live from the brand-new Dublin City FM studios between 7pm and 7:30pm every Wednesday beginning on Wednesday, July 6th. The first episode of the Irish Paralympic Show will concentrate on introducing the sport to listeners and will include an exploration of the career of show host, James Scully.
The show will aim to help listeners learn more about what Paralympic sport is and how it works. It will introduce and explain areas like classification, coaching, eligible impairments and sports and will focus on eligible Paralympic sports available in Ireland. The show will also consist of in-depth conversations with athletes and their support teams as we help to raise the awareness of athletes, their careers and the extraordinary standards of high performance they must reach and maintain.
The Irish Paralympic Show will also be available to download as a podcast from all of the usual streaming services.
Speaking about the announcement of the new Irish Paralympic Show, Paralympics Ireland CEO, Miriam Malone, said “We are delighted to partner with Dublin City FM to produce the Irish Paralympic Show.
