Paralympics Ireland, in conjunction with our recruitment partners, HAYS Ireland, are seeking two suitable candidates to fill two exciting roles with the Paralympics Ireland Para Swimming team.

The two successful candidates will play vital roles in ensuring the continued success of Irish Para Swimmers at European, World and Paralympic Games.

The two positions are Para Swimming Performance Coach and Coach Educator and Para Swimming Pathway Coach

The Para Swimming Performance Coach will be responsible for the high-performance swimming program within Paralympics Ireland. They will lead the delivery of coaching programs, evaluate the team’s progress and implement coaching practices that are reflective of world-class standards. The Performance Coach will also have responsibility for supporting the educational advancement of coaches for para-swimming in Ireland, essentially acting as a Coach Educator. The role will create educational opportunities through tutor lead sessions, practical sessions with para swimmers, and support coaches working with para swimmers through mentorship, assisting to create a workforce in learning and development focusing on 3 key areas for Para Swimming- Technical, Tactical, and leadership.

The Para Swimming Pathway Coach will work as part of a team to design and deliver the programmes to support athletes on their journey to the LA 2028 Paralympic Games and beyond. This aims to support Paralympics Ireland’s role as Para swimming NGB and grow the Para-swimming Performance Pathways and programmes. The pathway coach will oversee and ensure the best possible development pathway delivery and coaching by working in conjunction with Clubs, coaches and associated volunteers and stakeholders to ensure that opportunities and experiences for athletes, exist for them to progress, thrive, and reach their full potential. This role will have clear oversight of the Pathway club network and support the identified clubs and coaches nationally. Key to this role is to support the athletes in their home environments to deliver training and competition planning over the longer term that supports athletes and their coaches to achieve milestone competition leading to world-class success.
