Róisín Ní Riain was in the pool again yesterday evening for her second event, the 100m breaststroke final. The Limerick swimmer came agonisingly close to the podium again missing out on a bronze medal by .54 of a second.

Speaking after her swim Róisín said, “It was okay. Obviously, I’m disappointed to miss out on a bronze by so little but I’ve a few more events so hopefully I can build on that.”

Today Tokyo silver medallist Nicole Turner and 2022 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Barry McClements both take to the pool. McClements is first up competing in the first of two heats for the 100m Butterfly. Qualification would mean a final in the evening session for the county Down swimmer.

Turner will start her championships off with the 200m IM final in the evening session.
