The 2024 HerSport Awards, presented by Lidl, took place on Saturday, 25th January 2025, at UCD Astra Hall, continuing the proud tradition of celebrating the outstanding achievements of Irish sportswomen and the volunteers who support them.

The Para Cycling team and swimmer Róisín Ní Riain were among the standout winners. The Para Cycling Team received the coveted Team of the Year accolade, adding to their impressive list of awards, which aptly reflects their dominance on the international stage. Ní Riain, was celebrated for her remarkable achievements in the pool, winning Young Athlete of the Year further solidifying her status as one of the nation’s brightest talents.

Ní Ríain was recognised following her medal winning performances at the Para Swimming European Championships in Madeira, Portugal. The trip proved to be an extraordinary success for both Ní Ríain and the entire team, with a total of twelve medals earned, five of which were claimed by Ní Ríain herself. Her exceptional showing in Madeira provided a promising preview of what was to come at the Paralympic Games just four months later, where she went on to win two medals in Paris – silver in the 100m backstroke and a bronze in the 200m Individual Medley.

Katie-George Dunlevy collected the Team of the Year Award on the night. The team has seen extraordinary success throughout the past year. They were a dominant force at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, securing a gold medal and two silver medals.

After the Paralympic Games, Dunlevy and Kelly won gold in the time trial and road race at the UCI Road and Para-cycling World Championships in Zurich.

Josephine Healion and Eve McCrystal further showcased their talents by winning a bronze medal in the World Championship Road Race in September.
