Irish Para Swimmers are set to feature at the 2021 Irish National Team Trials, hosted by Swim Ireland at the National Aquatic Centre on the Sport Ireland Campus, the trials will run from Tuesday, 20th – 24th April.
The trials will serve as an opportunity for athletes to meet qualification standards for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, and also an excellent opportunity for some much needed competitive racing.
The competition will see eight para athletes race over the course of the five days, with hopes of meeting qualification standards, which will put them in contention for a place on Team Ireland for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, spectators will not be permitted to attend the event, with attendance limited to high performance athletes and essential personnel. The full event will be streamed live on the RTE Player, hosted by John Kenny and Nick O’Hare, interviews by Joanne O’Riordan.
Paralympics Ireland would like to thank the Irish Government, Department of Sport, Sport Ireland, and Swim Ireland for providing the opportunity to our high performance athletes to compete during current Level 5 restrictions.
