Paralympics Ireland respects the democratic process which resulted in the passing of two motions at the General Assembly of the International Paralympic Commitee, to suspend the Russian Paralympic Commitee and NPC Belarus’ membership rights for a period of two years, while allowing their athletes to participate on an individual, neutral, basis.
Paralympics Ireland had voted in favor of two earlier motions, which failed to pass, that sought the continued restriction of all membership rights of the RPC and NPC Belarus, including the continued restriction of their athletes.
Paralympics Ireland continues to stand with Ukraine and its athletes.
